I’m 34 years old and have been successful in losing weight by following a low carb diet since 2005 however I always did it just to be skinny, never healthy. About 2.5 years ago that changed and now I’m trying to be as healthy as I can be.
I now have total control over the need to eat. Fasting helped me realize that I stress eat and when I go off track I would binge for weeks. I felt horrible – mentally and physically, I was doing to an extent I couldn’t understand until I started IF.

Do your research. Listen to your body. Take electrolytes. I have never felt better. The control I have over the way I eat is so rewarding. I never want to go back to feeling the way I did before.
Don’t give up. If you can get past the first few days, it will be worth it. The first week was the hardest and I’m glad I pushed myself to give it a try.
Make sure to do enough research and use creditable resources. Different people have different opinions on what is acceptable to have during a fast and a few times I broke my fast without knowing it because I was just listening to anyone. Once I found credible resources I stuck with them and immediately corrected what I was doing wrong.
