Tell us a little about yourself and why you decided to make a change to your health? Back in 2016 I just underwent a drastic weight gain of +15 kgs within a span of 5 months, so I got tired of being told I’m fat, feeling heavy and tired all the time especially after walks plus wasn’t confident enough to wear some of the outfits.
What goals did you achieve since adding fasting into your life?
Losing 15 kgs “from 68-53 kgs” Early this Year(2021) I started IF jokingly...after 3-4 months I noticed my waist beads had loosened up, then feedback from people that I look like I have lost some kgs, that’s when I weighed myself and to my surprise I was 8+kgs down...became more motivated and lost another 6+ kgs in a span of another 3-4 months….I’m proud to say I exceeded my expectations because my ideal weight was to be @ 58kgs and I’m now @ 53kg since August 2021..been trying to maintain at it.
When it comes to fasting, what are your top 3 recommendations?
1. Exercise during the non-eating time frame (home workouts are enough like for me I usually do skipping rope, roller and few stretches)
2. No specific food required if you aren’t able to afford it, just choose nutrient dense type of food(s) after the fasting period and make each calorie count
3. Discover your fasting plan and don’t overdo it, just find a suitable one and adjust with time( for me 16/8 worked for me)
What is your favorite healthy food to eat? Vegetables, meat(white/red) and fruits. What is the recipe? Just use little frying oil when cooking or steamed ones if you can eat steamed food, grilled/deep fried once in a while, avoid consumption of a lot of carbohydrates( more proteins and vitamins etc.)…I usually do heavy breakfast and light meal/fruits at night and stay dehydrated the whole day.
How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life? It was my last weight loss routine to try plus after the positive results I became more determined to have and maintain such a lifestyle.
What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle? Workouts didn't work for me over the years (just kept me in shape nothing else), so after achieving what I have been trying over the last 5 years, can’t think of anything better than IF!
What is your best piece of advice for those just starting to fast?
Don’t give up if you don’t get any positive outcome after a short span of time, every body type adapts differently, be disciplined.
Anything else you would like to share?
Let no one ever tell you that you can’t achieve a weight loss journey…IF is the healthiest lifestyle one can ask for and doesn’t require a lot of money to achieve unlike gym fees etc.
